Quiet moments
between places

Benches, piers and jelly-blue water — everywhere the land stops and people stay a little longer.
Chongqing and Nanjing in the morning, when the city is still deciding whether to appear.
Museums, staircases and memorials — architecture that makes people walk more slowly.
Graubünden and Samarkand — thin air, long light, blue that does not photograph easily.
I photograph the quiet moments between places — a figure disappearing down a forest path, two benches facing the sea, a city softened by fog.
